I was contemplating dumping a couple gallons of kerosene in. Anyone have any other ideas? (Yes, I'm aware that I could ship them out to FDM/Fister.)

Scotts pic looks like the mesh had already been removed. Wrapped around the perforated pipes is a steel mesh. I opened mine up and removed all that crap. It sounds and feels way better ( when I use them) but the bypass pipes are the way to go. A little rough at idle, might set off the neighbors alarm, but very nice and "amicable" at normal speeds. Tunnels are a blast.
