Default 993 GT2 EVO build

Ok, I got your attention...

I have a 993 NB chassis converted to EVO look with original motorsport parts (from FVD etc.) with a lot of RS/EVO goodies already on the car. (front axle is 100% GT2 racing setup etc.)
The drive train is standard 993 3.6 with Eaton supercharger and a short ratio G50/30, but this will come out...read on.

Now here's the catch.... I drove 1700km's last weekend to check out Filips GT2 EVO engine and gearbox, and I had no choice but to buy it.

So, I now have a (almost) EVO chassis and a real EVO drive train. Mate them and I got a pretty nice EVO replica. Though, a lot of work is ahead and I think my problem will be finding all the right parts etc.

I have access to limited information on the Motorsport GT2s and I have done some digging but there are a lot of questions, like:

- Are the body seam welds strengthened in the race car? Adrians book says they are but there is no mentioning of this in official Porsche literature I have access to.

- Where to get either drawings/sketch, or parts for the weld in roll cage? Does the cage connect to the strut tops?

- Where does the gearbox oil cooler sit in the EVO1?

- Where to find photos or information on the underbody panelling?

I want to do this conversion right, even if it takes more effort and time. Any help and guidance will be much appreciated!

After I finish this season in a month or so, I will put the car up on stands and start tearing into it.

Track down the factory GT2 EVO manual and it will have all the information you will need along with any part numbers your looking for. PMNA will mail you one for free if you ask nicely

I actually have access to the motorsport catalog. Been digging up information and it seems that the GT2 EVO racecars share a alot of parts with the 993 turbo.
And even the special motorsport parts are very often just beefed up turbo parts (like a-arms and subframes with solid bushings instead of rubber etc.).

I also compared the base carrera and turbo partnumbers and even these cars share a lot of parts.
Considering my 993 already has the front suspension pretty much EVO spec...there is not that much to change.

The list will be something like this:

All rear links Tarret monoball
All rear suspension bushings solid (A-arms, subframe tilt kit etc.)
Turbo or motorsport drive shafts (don't know what the difference between those two are)
Solid mounts for transmission and engine
solid bushings for front control arms
Send motons out for overhaul (rebuild with different valving for slick use?)
New stiffer springs
new fuel pumps (shold propably get a 27 gallon racing cell)
Heigo 6-pt FIA cage

and be done with it for next season...

Then phase II is following winter with tearing up into the interior, reinforcing the chassis weld seams, installing a motorsport cage (from strut to strut) etc.
