Any car can be any color if you are willing to repaint it. I'd prefer to pay 87k for a car in its original color.

I guess I should have used my sarcastic emoticon when I posted.
Not many here would pay anywhere close to 87K for this particular car.........

Be more than $87k, not a sight unseen car buy, even with a good PPI, I'd have to see for myself, looks good though

That would be my dream car if it had black interior (and a 1997)

+1 on the interior. Regardless of asking price a RB TT even if re-painted is pretty rare. I've never seen one for sale period.

I can't seem to find the post, but isn't this a Rennlisters car? I vaguely recall reading about the respray and I def remember the tan interior combo.

I can personally vouch for this car as it belongs to a friend of mine. The owner is friends with Loren Koski who owns Import Paint and Body which is the top import body shop in Charlotte. After an unsuccessful search for a Riv Blue 993 (literally had the 1-owner, Riv Blue, Cashmere, 98 C2S for $60k in SC slip through his hands.. long thread on the 993 board) he decided to give the car to Loren to do a full re-paint. Loren personally spent 6 months on this car, both he and the owner are meticulous and the results and attention to detail are amazing. You may find an original Riv Blue turbo for sale one day, but Im sure it would be well north of $100k if it came on the market.

Personally I think the attraction to the Riv Blue cars is the rarity, not the actual color

He loses out on the C2S of his dreams, goes through a 6 month process of a meticulous paint job then to sell it now after all of that?

None of my business but that's what I call a damn shame.

I'd have to agree with you there. But to each their own I suppose.

But I am sure the re-spray quality on this one is excellent...from the sounds of it anyway.
