The intercooler probably is from a EVO engine, (most Evo's got that Secan) I know better cause I own
a similar intercooler, bought it from one of the EVO teams back at Daytona 97', it is worth some coin!,cheers.

The projekt car that i trade my 968 for is a 996 race car that was equiped with an 993 gt2 drivetrain , the car was raced like this in belgium early 2000 ,it won the championship in 2001 and came second in the 24h of Zolder .In 2005 it was sold and the new owner raced it a couple of times until the engine broke down , over the past years he collected al the new and rebuild parts to put the engine back together but he never came to it since he was to bussy running his shop.
So now i have got a 996 rsr style race car chassis and a 993 gt2 race gearbox and all the parts to build up a new 993gt2 race engine .
Since the build of my 968 turbo rs replica cost my a whole lot more than what the car could ever be sold for i now would like to put my time money and effort in a project that is worth it and I do not think that putting an aircooled engine in an 996 chassis is the most wise thing to do . I'm considering 2 options ,
1: selling the complete 993 drivetrain and buy a 996cup engine and gearbox for the 996 chassis .
2: selling the 996chassis find me an 993 rolling chassis and rebuild it to 993 gt2 race car spec and build in the drivetrain I already got .
I assume that option #2 will take the biggest investment in time and money but should result in a higher value car ?
Any thoughts on realistic value of a 993 gt2 (replica) race car ?

There was a 993 GT2 Replica listed in the classifieds here a while ago for over $100 grand I can't remember it may have been as high as $150,000. But I believe it was focused for street and High Performance Track driving not Racing. It is very hard to get big bucks when it comes time to sell a race prepped car. I love the 993 and that is why I built mine up over a 6 year period but now that I have a 6GT3 I doubt I will use the 993 much more on the track so its for sale. I haven't had any real bites on it but I have had several people ask me if I would sell the 6GT3. Long story to say it will actually probably cost you less to build up your 996 and it will probably be easier to sell it as a race car versus going down the GT2 path. If you were going to build a car for the street, casual track event then the opposite would be true, the 993 GT2 would be the way to go. Sorry for the long reply some times I just can't help myself.

Very unlikely. Porsche refused to accept the idea of straight cut gears being stronger until the early 2000's. This gearbox would still have helical synchro gears in it unless it had been retrofitted...

Its actually much more fun to drive when you are the only car on track or are with other cars of similar power/weight. I happen to run in the Instructor group at the tracks I drive and they all have GT3's, GT3 Cups, GT3 RSR's so after a while it gets tiring having to get out of the way
