Default engine hood. What does your do?

When you pull on the hood release, does your hood automatically go up, or do you have to reach back there and help it up?

thanks guys.

The front hood pops up about 1/2". The engine hood does not appear to move, but after the Tee handle is pulled the engine lid can be lifted and my new hood shocks hold it up.....for a year or so, when they will need replacement once more.

Mine, with fairly new shocks, "pops" up with the release about an inch or two, but then sits still until assisted up, where it stays without a problem.

My engine lid shoots up fully - would give some poor sod a bang on the chin if they were standing too close. Damn those 'heavy duty' after market shocks.

same as above. When the hood struts were brand new, it would pop up with such force I thought the fiberglass might tear.

Now that they have some wear, it goes up all the way, but a bit more slowly. Nevertheless, when I pull the handle, I keep one hand on the wing so it doesn't fly up.

If the hood shoots up violently, you got the wrong struts on the car, and you are banging away at the hinge stops, which may cause issues in the long term.

Got all four replaced by new ones. The front are fine but I also have to retain the back lid when I pulled the trigger. I hope it wil get smoother after a while...
