Default Mass flow expansion? What is this?

I'm getting ready to upgrade my Injectors and k24's (sending to Tial) and one of the items on the estimate sheet is a Mass flow expansion. It's a $275 part. I've done some searches and come up with nothing. Anyone know what this is?
Thanks

Well the stock mass flow sensor maxes out at 5v and higher hp programs max the sensor. There are a number of options to help with this problem. - protomotive uses a resistor array to adjust the stock maf readings, others have used ?hitachi maf sensors and I believe ?ford mafs, don't know what your upgrade consists of but it's going to be something like the above.

ugh, that resistor crap is so bush league. We used to do that crap with blown mustangs until we wised up and started using maf's with more headroom. I believe the last maf I had on my cobra was a hitachi and I was at about 4.2 volts at 7200rpm and about 700rwhp.

$275 is probably about right for a Hitachi MAF. Don't think there are many people on rennlist using hitachi maf's and not something that's readily offered by the usual suspects afaik, who's doing the conversion/programming?

S-Car-Go is doing the work and sending the computer back to Todd at Proto. for the programing.
Thanks for the responses.

will do. Originally looking to fix my running lean issue and doing the Tial K24 hybrid "while I'm in there" so I'm curious what it's going to feel like when I'm all set up. I'll post the results.

Yes, I will be sending the computer back to Todd for another program. It also looks like I'm going to pull the old stock K16's out of the closet and have them rebuilt and reworked to the K16/24. That sounds like the right set up for my engine.
I'll let you know how it goes. Probably a month away.
