Default Has Anyone Built a TT from a NB 993?

Is it even possible with the spacing limitations of a NB 993? I'll thinking about it using factory parts.

It's probably possible, I don't have any first hand experience but there has been custom builds that show up/threads. Don't recall seeing a stock turbo motor in a nb 993 but have seen it in older 911's so must be possible. Turbo charging or supercharging a na 993 question comes up occasionally. In the end though due to resale value and the other bits that come with a real turbo, it would make better sense to just sell the nb 993 and buy a real turbo.

There seems to be a lot of interest in 993 turbos recently, better start looking.

The engine bay dimensions are the same on both. Some exhaust mods are necessary though and the rear deck lid also.

Pretty sure this guy put a 993 turbo engine in his 964. I'm sure if it fits in a 964 it will fit a narrow body 993.

See: Princeton Wong 993 build. He's a fellow houstonian. It's very possible to do. Also see turbokraft 993 twin turbo sleeper build.

The Turbo engine sits further back compared to NA motors. You will need to custom fab pieces to attach the tranny. This excellence article has some of the details.

Why not just install a TPC supercharger with an intercooler? Completely reversible and can still part the supercharger to get most of your money back when you sell your car. Ilko is doing it this winter and costs about $12K.

You will never get your money back on a TT conversion if that matters to you. A NB converted to TT will never be valued as a TT.

+1 do a top end rebuild while your at it. Bulletproof combo there. A proper TT conversion costs as much as a proper 993 C2s. At least.
