Default Advice on Smoke

I drove my 97 turbo this morning and noticed light smoke coming out from under the left rear fenders from under the wheel arch. I only noticed it when a friend pointed it out to me. My friend said this could be oil dripping into the exhaust and should disappear after it burns off. Would appreciate any advice on what I should check for. Thanks.

Lower valve cover gasket would be my guess. Not too bad to replace but the turbo has to come off.

Dave911G, thanks. I guess I will need to have it checked by the mechanic.

Or just take a look yourself - you can see some stuff just by lying on the floor with a flashlight......
