carmstrongls1, i ran the parts on a horizontal mill with fourth axis, but it can be done on a conventional 3axis setup. the key tools are mastercam surfacing software and solid works.

ca933 twin, no areo mods this go around next year most defiantly.

texas 993, the P.O. put the turbo r bits on the car, upgraded the suspension, and carbon fiber interior parts as well.

Well well well, I've got about twenty HMCs with 4th axis begging to do just that type of work. The thin wall looks like fixture time though.

Here goes the shop talk we use edgecam and have a surfacing full five axis license so I know we can pull it off. I just noticed you spoke of the NA center section. I didn't know that you went with the aluminum intake manifold. Which means the whole design would change for my car. Or... I bite the bullet and go for the gusto. It's just been two years in building and I am ready to get at least a dozen miles under my belt soon.

More hopefully.

When are you going to let these guys know how much power that Texas bad boy put down on the rollers? I'm not letting the cat out if the bag lol.

Very impressive
Put me down for drawings, parts or a completed kit if you decide to sell any.
Looking forward to seeing more pics and your solution for the airbox.
Are you going to seal to the spoiler at all?

here's a couple more pics, i do plan on sealing the intercooler to the deck lid and also plan on running some fans underneath. I have proved the fans are a huge help at fighting heat soak during low speed and in traffic conditions. As far as the air box, i have the room for a 14"x6" KN panel filter, aluminum box and snorkel to get to the decklid or plumb into the ducts on the side of the tail.

in the pics, the side shot of the intercooler in the car, you can see plenty of roon for the air box and snorkel also note the hard piping coming off the intercooler allowed me to use off the shelf silicon boost hoses. goodbye factory soft silicon ended crap!

This intercooler might be to much of an extreme mod for most owners, but cold air is king for these engines. If I was to do this again I think I would make a custom center section that allows the best of both.Maximum core size with near stock plumbing. The center section is a relatively a simple part to reproduce. i would just make it facing the front of the car and relocate the ICV.

Do you mean that you'd produce a custom centre section for the intake manifold to replace the 993 n/a one? Sounds like a plan.
I think you'd have a surprising amount of interest in a group buy if you put together a package of intercooler, airbox and centre section (na or custom).

Tacker, I have been a race parts fabricator of over 35 years. Scratch built a lot of intercoolers all the way back to the 935 days. Everything being formed sheet aluminum, functional and very aesthetic. But you machinists are f*cking crazy with the billet stuff. That is phenomenal work and produces a part that is beyond description. Your unit has put you in the same league as the billet MODE intercollers and in my eyes that is top of the line. The bio is only my way of saying I know exactly what I am looking at and what it took you to get there.
Rick
