Default 044 Fuel pump upgrade on 993 Turbo

My stock fuel pump died and I bought the 044 Bosch pump. Doing the upgrade tonight. I searched and not many info on the 993 Turbo section, many guys with 964's and other cars but noone here.

Is this a direct replacement? I am almost positive not. If someone could point out what fittings, hoses etc I might need that would be appreciated.

I heard the wiring gets hot on the 044, should I replace the wiring as well? Sorry for all the questions, just looking for some help.

I've done this. You need to get a couple of fittings to bolt up to the stock lines. I'll see if I can find what they were (this was a long time ago)

the low pressure side is M18 X 1.5 female and I think you need a male fitting with a barb. Don't remember what size if its 3/8 (-6AN) or 1/2 (-8AN).

Did you take the old pump out yet? That will answer what size barb you will need and then you can spend time on summitracing finding the exact fitting you need.

Thanks, I will run with this thread and my old pump to S&K speed shop here in NY. Hopefully that will help me put it on tonight.

Did you change the wires or is that fine?

Default 044 adaptors

I'd be interested in what you find, as I'm about to do this as well (single 044 to replace stock). What was the part number of the 044 that you used?
Would be great to know which fittings are required.
