Rear Light Delete...
I came across a "RUF" rear light delete for sale, can anyone tell if it is legit? Seller claims it is, but I'd be buying it from another country with a language barrier so communication is hard. It's painted speed yellow (would repaint black) and is selling for $280.

That's the thing.. what if painting it is what RUF did? lol. The seller has alot of random porsche parts, he also has a set of "RUF" 930 and 964 Rear center light deletes, 1 of each.
Sellers:
Here's the 993s on a BTR

Those are definitely painted OEM pieces. I don't know if that's what Ruf did, but you'd be better off painting your original piece, than buying that one and having to paint it anyway.

Re: Ruf bits
I know this is pretty old, but someone may come across this and gain a little knowledge.
Except for very very early Ruf conversions, pretty much every genuine Ruf part has a unique Ruf serial number. If you see a Porsche part number on the item, that is exactly what it is. On a Ruf part [as these were presented to be] it would almost always be in the form of a small aluminum tag with "Ruf" green paint and would include the specific Ruf part number either stamped or engraved on it. Usually these are glued in place on the inside. This is a very easy and specific way of determining if it is the real thing or not. BTW, in my experience most of these body bits are noticeably stronger in construction for long term high speed durability.
