I actually had the same thought Bill. the car is very nice with great colors. $77,500 is a fair price for a 15k car and it is local. I'll try this approach and see what happens. The owner is super ****!!!!

Thanks Bill. The market is funny up here. Canadians are willing to pay more for a Canadian car, but will only pay maybe 5% more than US market for a US car even though it costs at least 10% more than US market to get a car into Canada??? I struggted with this when I was selling my 993's last year and ended up having to accept US market pricing for my cars. It was a tough pill to swallow on the silver car. The TT I am considering is a US car, so that is why it is priced the way it is.

77,5k on a good 15k car is below market by about 10k imo.
He's a basically discounting it nearly the amount of a topend rebuild, look a it that way. Nice 15k cars are not easy to come by, if you hesitate, chances are someone else will buy it sight unseen. That's been my experience.

Super ****, but underselling? Those two usually don't go together, I thought is was rare to find a low mile 993 in Canada & when you did, it was more than US market.

Personally, I don't think it is that much under market for a private sale on a low option TT. Another member just bought a 22K mile car for $68K, so what is 7K miles less worth?
It is rare to find a low mile Canadian TT in Canada, but there are a fair number of US cars in the Toronto area. Still compared to the US, they are much harder to find. That being said, there are also a lot less TT buyers up here

I bought a 30k miler for 73.5, another 30k car went for 82.
If I found the perfect 15k mile car in the 70s and i liked what i saw/heard, talked ti whoever serviced the car. I would snap it up without a ppi, too good of a bargain to pass up.

perhaps make a deal with deposit and have his mechanic do the leakdown with you present. don`t see how he could turn that down unless he is hiding something. Mark, what colour is it

Thanks Dan. It's silver on black. Have to wait 2 weeks to discuss it further as the owner is out of town until July 10th....

Sounds like a good deal. No expert but Courtney Walsh says he can tell from his computer readings whether a leakdown is worthwhile. He recommended against it on my (then) 8,300 mile car. Good luck.

Why not give the seller a deposit, conditional on passing a quality PPI?
