Wanted in WA: Set of old/used/worn/expired Big Red brake pads
Hi Everyone,
I'm just a visitor from the 964 group - nice to meet everyone. Anyway, love the 993 Twin Turbo! Until I have one of my own, I am in the process of upgrading my front calipers to Big Reds. Since this is a new caliper/rotor combo for me, I don't have any old (pre-bedded) pads to break in my new rotors. Apparently it is advised to utilize used pads to break in new rotors, since material from new pads can be transfered to rotors during this process.
SO, I wanted to see if any of you had an old throw-away set of Big Red front pads that I can use for the break in of my new rotors. They don't need to have any life in them. I just need enough to break in my new rotors.
I'm in the Seattle area (Renton), and would love to stop by to pull them out of your scrap/garbage pile if you have any.
If not, I'll just break them in with new Pagid Yellow's... which would probably be fine. I just wanted to check for a 'proper' option first.
Thank you so much for you help!
