Default I luvvvv Arena Red

I really like Arena Red. I just saw an ad on Ebay where the lister posted a lot of pictures. A lot of pictures is a good thing. I think I am addicted to the colour. Here is the link

^^^ I recently found out that there are three different paint formula's and shades of Arena Red from the factory. The first mix had brown highlights, the mid-mix was more orange and the last mix is pushing purple/wine colors.

Porsche agrees with your thoughts. Here are two of their print ads from that era:

Do you have more details? Are they different per year, or are there actually different paint codes? Am looking at a respray in the next year or so...

I don't have a lot of information, but when 9m did my Speedster based on my Arena Red cabriolet, they informed me that there were three factory 'mixes' to choose from. My original car's highlights looked orange to me in intense sunlight and so do most U.S. Arena cars, but ultimately, we decided to go purple/wine. I do know that mid'97 Porsche had to convert to water based paints to conform to Europe's new air quality standards and that certainly may have had something to do with the differences ...
In your case, depending on if you are doing a complete glass-out paint job or not .. your paint shop should be able to show you what the differences are and give you samples. You can also call or Skype Marc at 9m and ask him if there's a code change, calling is the best way to contact him ... U.K. time is 8 hours ahead of PST here ..

Well now it all makes sense. My last Arena Red was brownish and this one is more vibrant purple/wine color.

Thanks for the info!

Since the paint shade works with time, sunlight, silicones, etc all colors of the 993 are offered in different shades from original manufacturer to match actual color.
The original shade for a total repaint is offered, as well as shades...
Google glasurit color online.
Put the years 1995 1997 and arena rot
Choose paint line 99 and you have the different shades with respective formulas
