Hello everyone,

I'm refurbishing my TT (replacing old rubbers, floor mats, etc) and I came across these, and I was wondering whether they were an optional factory extra at the time or not. In other words, if I install these, am de-993-sing my car and making the horrible mistake of 996/7-sing it? They look much better than ther pvc door sills I am currently stuck with.

Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert, but I believe that aluminum door sills were a factory upgrade over the rubber ones. I apologize in advance if I'm wrong.

Don't believe anything you get from the internet. Except here. Unless its me. I'm a serious old fart with few functioning brain cells left.

It's a known fact that too much boost destroys brain cells.
I'm getting low in that department as well.

Those door sills were a factory option from Porsche.

I can't see them in a picture but the sills were an option. they are easy to install just heat the old ones with hairblower and peel off the pvc ones, wet the area peel the tape on the back and slide into place and wait to dry. a very easy and rewarding diy.

Great news, looks like I have to place an order now then.. A set of black w/ porsche embroidered in red Lloyd's mats, plus some turbo aluminium door sills. Talking about spoiling your porsche!

And if I'm not mistaken, Porsche also had a set of alu door sills that said "911 GT" which could be found on the 993 GT2's as well.
