No boost display
I just took delivery of a 1996 993 TT. The car is beautiful and drives great, but I noticed that there is no boost display in the computer. I can cycle through 5 or so options, miles to empty, mph display, temperature, trip odometer... but none of those is a boost display. Is there something I'm just doing wrong. Thanks!
I'll post up a couple of delivery pics. The delivery truck was really nice.

Yep, it just isn't there. Computer goes straight to temperature display. I had a 964 turbo previously so I know what the boost display should look like.
Anyone have any idea how that is possible?
Here is a photo of the new car. It is wicked fun.

Looks like you bought the car from Premier in Springfield, MO, or Willhoit, since they share inventory.
Did you purchase sight unseen? One of the things you need to do on a test drive, when considering a purchase, is to see how rapily the car builds boost to 0.8 bar (in 3rd gear for example). Talk to your salesperson (Chris, Merry, ?) and see if they will make you "whole" on the repair. They have a precedent of doing this for others.
I am not too convinced that you can get a quality PPI done in Springfield, MO. Who did your PPI? A few guys here have brought in a trusted wrench & mechanic from the KC area, IIRC, to do PPI's on cars from this dealership.
Or you can purchase one of these!!! Telling time in a Turbo is irrelevant. Ditch the clock. When you travel as fast as we do, we warp the known time relationship:

I did buy this car from Premier and the transaction itself and shipping were pretty much top notch.
I'm not sure where I will have the car serviced in Houston. When I had a 964 turbo, I took it to Porsche of West Houston but perhaps there is a better independent shop closer to downtown. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I expect I will just need to take the car to a local shop to diagnose/repair the boost display issue.
Could the boost display be an issue with the computer itself, or is it most likely the display device within the Tach? I assumed (probably incorrectly) that the tach would display whatever the computer tells it to. Perhaps the computer is in the tach itself though.
Thanks for the responses/ideas.

Pretty sure you guys are right, I pulled the tach part way out and determined that there is no part number sticker on the back or side of the tach, so I bet it is a replacement part from a NA car, which was probably refurbished or something so it lost its sticker.
I think I'll just need to replace with a tachometer from a 993 turbo and I'll be all set.
