Default Decisions decisions???

Rennlisters,

I have a 96 993tt with an offical porsche 450ECU from the 1998 Turbo S/GT2 and stock K16's installed. It also has the additional oil cooler from the Turbo S fitted. I have installed a VDO boost gauge in the drivers vent to see what it boosts to. I have found in 2nd and 3rd, it will boost to 0.7bar and in 4th and 5th I have seen a solid 0.9bar under load(up a hill, full throttle).

I waited for ages to find a decent set of K24's to go with the ECU, and now have found a pair(actually I have 3, 1 new one, all with the correct borg and warner part numbers for the 993tt/GT2).

So now I have a choice... Do i leave alone as I have seen 0.9bar with the K16's and understand that they are ok up to 1bar?

Or do i install the K24's that i now have? If i do, I will have 2 pairs of stock K16's that are fine too, so what do I do with them?

I bought the K16's with a view to creating K16/24's but now have a set of K24's as well.

Decisions decisions as I said, but I need to do something as there are 5 turbochargers in my garage now and the wife is thinking i have some new wierd obsession.

cheers

Taj.

Can you post a pic of this and also info where you bought it from? It's been on my list of "to-do's" for years!

Thanks
David

Exclamation

There you go...plenty of threads on how to install.. bought the gauge from the US from an ebay seller..its the vdo vision range... great quality.

Only problem is once you see what its boosting, you want more. vacuum is useful as it helps spot leaks.
