I have an annoying problem and I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a '97 C4S and the rear seat belts will not extend. It seem like the ratchet is somehow stuck so that the locking mechanism will not disengage. Has anyone else had this problem? I was considering trying to take the seat belt mechanism out to see if there is some way to clean it with WD-40 or spray it with silicone to free it up. Does anyone out there have experience with this? I am trying to avoid spending $350 on a new seat belt, since that is what the seat belt assembly costs from Porsche.

I had one that was stuck and slacking, then yanking on it a bunch of times cleared the problem.

i've got a pair of rear seat belts you could have for much less than that if you end up needing them

Had the same problem a while ago, took things apart and was a simple fix but don't remember exactly what the fix was!

I took the rear deck cover off and messed around with the belts. Not sure what i did exactly but they work again
