Default Cam Carrier for 993TT

Turns out I need a new right side cam carrier and having checked the PET catalogue there is a different part number for the Turbo (993 105 012 50) compared to the 993 N/A.

Bearing in mind that people seem to swap cams between the various different models of 911 as mods I was wondering if anyone knows what the difference is or has a couple laying around their shop that they could compare for me as it will be a lot easier to source a N/A one than the turbo and OPC want a small fortune for a new one.

Thanks

Andrew.

I know that RUF Dallas is doing a Turbo R conversion on a 993 TT now. Part of the upgrade is new RUF cams. If you are trying to source some used TT cams, you might want to give them a call.

Thanks Patrick but I have the cams and they are fine, its just that the right hand side Cam Carrier on mine is damaged and I need to replace it.

Good luck.

Its the metal housing that the cam sits in, one for the left hand side and a second for the right hand side of the engine.

Internal oil passages are slighty redirected in order to compensate for turbo oil supply., at the end of the housing (both ends) there are some steel ***** about 9 1/2 mm size inserted for this purpose, I have used the N/A version on TT without no ill effects that I know of.,cheers.

Thanks Sonny that was what I wanted to hear, will keep hunting around for the one of the proper ones but good to know I can fall back on a N/A version if I get stuck.
