Default How much should I offer?

I've found a black on black 1997 Turbo for sale by a local tuner shop (its the owners car). It has 65,000 mi. The exterior is in pretty good shape, some rock chips. The interior is basically perfect, full carbon fiber and leather. It has full service history, upgraded 16/16g turbos, extra oil cooler, upgraded clutch, 5 bar fuel pressur regulator, adjustable boost, Fabspeed, Protomotive tune...PSS9's and 2wd conversion with Guard LSD and steel synchros.

I mean, basically this car is completely set up. Only thing worrying me is the mileage and the paint chips. (sorry, no pics)

I'm buying for a daily driver, and I'm going to be putting 10K miles a year on the car.

Thoughts?
Thanks!
Shawn

As much as I love 993tt's, not sure a modded one with 65k miles is going to make a great DD. The car is 12 yrs old and things are going to start breaking, which isn't cheap.
As a toy, yes, as a DD I would try and find one with less miles and no mods. jmo guys

I don't think I would pay more than $50k for it.

I humbly disagree about it not being a suitable DD.
I would however be concerned about "adjustable boost" without a lot more information as to how it works and who built it.

Wow, I've seen responses of "at least 70" to "I wouldn't pay 50". I guess it really is hard to say what a good market price is for a car like this.

I really like the car, it is very nice except that the body is quite chipped up from rocks/trackdays. I guess that goes to how hard it has been run, but I know everything is basically new within the last 2 years on the car. Ah...decisions decisions...

Spmorgan, if you decide to purchase the car, have at least $10K in cash, liquid, for maintenance and unexpected repairs, and sorting-out once you receive the car. So you don't have a disappointing buying experience.

How mu$h is the seller asking?

The number is much-much closer to $50K than it is to $70K.

And, much like having a good doctor....make sure you have a very good air cooled 911 mechanic.

Have fun with your journey!

10m miles per year does seem like a lot for a 12 yr old TT. low-mid 50's is probably fair given the rock chips

Be sure you get a leakdown test with a full PPI from another shop. Those are a lot of hard core mods, most of which detract from the value, unless it was done at a shop like Ruf. I would offer 50k in this economy, if he's asking 70k it will still be available next yr.
Keep looking, there are a lt of cars in the 70 range out there.

Remember where you are asking for your info. Most on this forum own these cars and many of us are pretty delusional about their value in the market place.

Sounds like a well thought out and modded driver although anything as fast and
road capable as a 13 yr old TT is going to b e a hand full as a DD.
The more miles the more likely something will need attention and when it does
hold on to your wallet !
I'm not saying it couldn't be used daily a lot of us do ,but usually only when
our daily is down or in the shop,I try and use the TT for enjoyable mileage as
opposed to workaday commuting.
What's it worth ...hell the moon ,will he get it doubt it, at 65k it's right where
my bone stocker is and the mods might even devalue somewhat further,of
course unless the major components are included as a sweetener.
I'd say high 40's low 50's easy... sounds like a great car mods most people end
up getting done anyway, good luck Bert

That car is has too many mods to be a reliable DD, and $50k is probably too high.

haha that car is FINE for a DD and has great mods (although that brings almost nothing to the selling price so keep that in mind)

16/16g is a great combo and its probably a protomotive kit. If it passes the PPI then go for it!!! Offer $48k and see what happens

I appreciate everyone's input! I'll probably offer $50 take it or leave it...I doubt he will take it, he's asking 60 and is attached to his car.

I'll let you know.
