Default 993 Turbo as DD

I currently have a 997 C4S and am considering trading it in on a 993 Turbo as a daily driver.

I am posting here to see if any of you use your car every day

I don't, but wouldn't have a problem at all except during the hottest part of the summer.

I second the above. I'm trying to use my 993TT as a DD but have other cars I want to drive as well. Having said this, its great to zip around in, feeling small and powerful, has AWD which is great in rain and even snow, has back seats for bags and my dog, a functional trunk, the gas mileage is reasonable, and its highly reliable. In many respects, its the perfect package unless you absolutely need 4 doors or a van.

Same here......... I have used them as daily drivers since the late 90's.

Stereo, Sat Nav, Bluetooth are all easy to upgrade to.
The only thing that I miss on a daily basis: remote boot lid release.
Everything else about a 993 makes up for it.

Mine is. Does not see much service lately as I'm riding my bicycle to the office.

Thumbs up

I THINK THE 993 TWIN TURBO IS MORE DRIVER FRIENDLY THAN ANY REGULAR 911 !! THE POWER ASSISTED CLUTCH, TORQUE CURVE AND EXTRA HORSPOWER MAKE IT SOOOOOOOOOOOO EASY TO DRIVE..WHAT A PLEASURE !!!YOU CAN DRIVE IT LIKE DALE EARNHARDT JR OR MOTHER TERESA AND IT WILL NEVER COMPLAIN...PLUS IT HAS THE BEST LOOKING REAR END IN THE BUSINESS !!! I'D GO FOR IT !!!

I did it for a year. Made the beginning and ending of each day something to look forward to. (The caveate is that I had a fun twisty turny section (Portrero road) on the 30 mile drive to Port Hueneme. And the tickets can be a problem.)

+1. The nice clutch is a pleasure compared to the 996 C4S.

I would love for it to be my DD but for the fact that I work in Manhattan.

I envy you guys with scenic drives and/or safe parking spots at work!

Buy it, drive it daily and enjoy it!
GL!

I agree. I have a 996 Cab as well and just never drive it any more. The 993 much more fun to drive each day
