Jussi,

Excelent job! Glad to see that you have followed this through and the 997 lights look

You do know that balck cars are faster - you will hit your goal of 200MPH - just dont give up !

A craftsman at its best!!!! I am blown away - makes my project look like tame...

Why not weld in a roll bar/cage while you are at it? Much easier with no roof too. Plus you can paint it body color at the same time.

Yes, there is always a risk when doing such a modification.. but I take a risk
I have strengthen all sides around roof by welding extra metal sheets for them - like a roll cage..

I'll fix that CF roof for the car with Pliogrip Panel 60. It is very ridig and it is equivalent to welding joint. Same than BMW uses for its CF roof versions, M6 and M3 CSL. That glue meets all car industry's crash standards and should be good stuff.

Carbon roof itself is very stiff, made with honeycomb cells, towards center its thickness increases - more layers.

I though that when I was planning to cut those sides.. but I don't know the answer. The aerodynamics is not easy thing. I know that at front it is better to cover all useless openings but how are those rear sides holes.. tell me if you know

I'll install air tube from these through sheet metal to engine's room for air filter(s). Future plan is to double air filter for each turbos - like in Jean's car and install two separate MAFs for those lines and then do the electronic summing and scaling down for MAF output voltage.. but that is another story..

too much weight I strengthened all sides around cutted roof line with extra sheet metals and weldings. At least it felt very rigid.

Cr@p for a track car. You need to duct fresh air directly from the GT2 rear wing openings (if you have one) to the turbos, a K&N style filter in the engine bay without proper ducting is a very inefficient way to get fresh air. I discussed this with a guru who races/raced 993 GT2s extensively in Le Mans and others, and this is good for 20hp of losses in normal temps.

If you don't have the GT2 lid, you can duct air through a NACA fitted on the rear quarter windows and have good flexible ducts routed through the rear engine firewall straight down to each MAF and turbos.

Do you mean from the GT2 tail side openings?

Finally ordinary people here.

j/k. Why paint it at all?

Or just paint it dead black, the roof will outshine the rest anyway.

Or paint it like Maya the Bee, like the EDO Turbos.

Jussi,
If top MPH is your goal, did you consider lowering the rake on the windscreen ?
[as one of the companies did a few years ago]

Too hard for us mere mortals, .....but not for you !

Awesome work

Jussi, what will this car be considered in the end? A 993TTS? 993/997TT?
