Porsche tire test Feb. 2008
Cross post from 993 board.
Looks like the S02a has fallen out of favor. I have 2 in the back and was going to get 2 in the front to match. Comments appreciated.

The test results I saw seem to apply to earlier models than the 993 and in different sizes. The SO2 is a decent tire and superior to the S03 in my view since the 03 is heavier by several pounds. The Conti Supercontact was a better tire in my experience but wears a bit faster. I found the conti to be better than the S02 in the wet and the tests seem to confirm that (nasshandling).

Thanks for posting that its very interesting....
So many people seemed to slate the Pirrelli Rosso N4s but I have been through a few sets and always thought them a good all round tyre - seems this test confirms Porsche think the same, along with Contis they get the best overall points in our sizes.
I wonder what happened to the Bridgestone S02 PPs the original tread pattern which my car was supplied with from Porsche ? I am running a set at the moment, I think they are N2 designation so maybe slightly modified from the then cutting edge '95 version - they seem a great all round tyre IMO also but getting harder to find - obviously Porsche found them REALLY hard to find as they weren't in the test
