Default rear spoiler grill lifting

Hi dudes,

I have a 993tt and annoyingly, the rear spoiler grill lifts at the right hand top corner that is nearest the rear screen... driver side in the UK. Anyone else had this? looking down into the fixing to see how it should sit, it seems there is just a small clip that clips into a recess which is not particularily deep...hence the grill pops up every now and again....

look forward to hearing your thoughts..

yes, a common problem I think. IIRC, there is a kit to reinforce that part of the grill... couldn't find anything here on the TT forum, just this thread with the same problem. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=35947

Hope this helps.
Someone else may have more to add... like an answer maybe...

I have an older article on the procedure from Excellence I think. The PO of my TT gave it to me with my car. It has a few good pictures. I'll do my best to scan and post it tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies.

Is there a kit available from Porsche? Just wondering where you would get the stainless or aluminium strip from. I can't really read the article as the scan is a poor quality, but does it mention which glue to use?

If you can scan the article again JDHertz11 that would be much appreciated.

thanks.

JD, in my first reply there is a link to a thread with that article scanned. Don't want you to spend the time scanning it if not needed. here it is again: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=35947
Unless maybe yours will be easier to read?

Taj, I am not sure on the kit. Check out this thread on a split grill someone had for sale... maybe this "reinforcement rail and kit" is the answer? https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=35947
I'd bet someone here knows. I don;t know the anatomy of this grill that well. Fortunately, I have not had to deal with this... yet.
