Default Car Won't Start

I'm in the northeast and my 993TT is parked in a detached unheated garage. I didn't drive it for ten days and now it won't start. The engine doesn't seem to turn and I hear a clicking sound when I turn the ignition key. Could it be that my battery doesn't have enough juice in the cold when not driving the car every day?
Any help is much appreciated.

Battery. Mine was so dead it clicked even with the jumpers hooked up. Hook up jumper cables, leave it for several minutes with the "donor" car idling, then crank it up and run the car for 20 minutes or so to charge the batt. Make sure you don't leave an interior light on or something, that can kill it.

Battery is new, put in by dealer when I purchased the car this past summer. I'm surprised by how quickly it went dead. No interior lights were on. I guess I need to buy a trickle charger for the winter. Thanks guys!

Mikey,

If you don't have an eletrical "leak", you have a bad battery, no matter how new it is. It should not go dead after 10 days. I'd take it back to the dealer and get another one.

Happens in the winter even in my attached garage...throw the charger on there and do your best to run the car more often.

I hate when that happens...

Mine goes dead after 2 weeks or so in winter even with a new battery. Just get a trickle charger and you'll be set.

Guys, continuing this thread, I had to put on jump leads from my volkswagen corrado to the battery on the 993 turbo this weekend. I had left it only 8 days so suspect the battery may be on the way out. Is it possible to damage the electrics \ ecu by hooking up jump leads?

For those that have jumped a dead battery, how does the immobilzer behave? Is it a non-event or do you you need to deactivate via the keyfob (after good battery is connected)? Just wondering....

Do you own (or know someone else that does) a multimeter/voltmeter? Have you ever checked the standby current draw? You should have no problems leaving your 993TT unattended for at least a month!

I had no issues with immobilizer. I didn't even need to enter the radio code, and mine was DEAD. I couldn't even unlock the car via remote, let alone start it.
