Default Best coilovers for 993TT

What is the best coilover for a '96 993 TT. It is primarily a street car at the moment, but I want the flexibility to have a great track set up.

One would need to know a good deal about your driving experience for a more definitive answer, but you couldn't go wrong with a PSS-9 setup for street and track work.

KW's will give better flexibility than a Pss9 which is old technology.

Here's an interesting test of the PSS9's, don't know if anything like this has been conducted here before (edit yes it has and I've included a link)

http://forums.audiworld.com/suspension/msgs/1121.phtml

Here is the link for the Rennlist post

https://rennlist.com/forums/showpost...0&postcount=12

The findings on the first link were that there were only two true different settings on the shocks. Regardless they are still great all around CO's and decently priced but you really can't compare them to Ohlin, Penske, Motons imo. Then again you get what you pay for as those offerings are twice the price if not more!

IMO even on the street a properly set up combo from Ohlin, Penske, Moton with MUCH higher spring rates than PSS9's are just as comfortable. I'm driving on crappy Chicago roads too, not the perfect pavement found in more sunny climates

Not trying to start a sht storm here but thought that it may be good for discussion

Don't think Bilstein ever said the settings from 1-9 were progressive from soft to firm. Most assume they are because there are settings from 1-9. I agree in that the PSS9s really seem to have 3 settings. Firm, soft and everything else.

Suspension settings are so subjective. One man's firm is another man's soft. I think it boils down to what's tolerable to each individual.

But I think for sure is that the stock suspension and PSS9s can be compared to night and day.

Lastly, where one choices to stand on the "cost no object" to "on a budget" line is also a determining factor. One needs to decide how "far" they want to take it.

My current set up is similar to AndyT, with the exception of the springs.and front bar (mines a 3 way) I run twin springs 150/800 and 125/600 Eibach. This give almost decent street ride without a kidney belt for the street. This set up will run down Lotus's in the corners.

I will be changing to a KW set up shortly.
