$54,700 for a 1996 tt?
55,000 miles, one owner car, all service records. Miles are a little high for me but not bad for a 11 year old car and I'm looking for a daily driver. Color is blue on blue (not my favorite by any means), sport seats.
Any thoughts?

The price seems fine if anything it seems on the cheaper side.
Personally I'd pass if the color isn't what you want. There's plenty of other cars out there.
Also keep in mind that blue/blue will be harder for you to sell down the road.

Figure you will pay less than they are asking, seems like a low price to me. Unique color combo which will stand out in the usual boring color combinations seen on these and ever other german car. Ask for pictures of turbos + lower valve covers.

I think that's a nice color plus it has sport seats. The price seems very good. The car looks stock, and will probably need shocks (~3k for a nice upgrade, installed). The clutch accumulator (if its bad) is not a big deal. Boost leak may mean new (uprated) main boost hoses... $500 installed. I would have it checked out by an independent, and have them repair or discount for everything that is found. Good luck, and nice find.

I drove that car. It needs a good detailing. The front looks like it had been behind many a gravel truck. No paintwork anywhere - I went over the seams and door jambs closely. The interior was pretty nice, and I think it had a boost gauge (Andial?) in the driver's air vent. Ride was good, car tracked straight and all the switchwork was functioning. Not a bad car for the price. Brake pedal felt like you were pushing against an immovable block of rubber. No synchro whine or crunch. I would have bought it but blue/blue was not catching the wife's eye

I saw the records. It is a two owner car from what I saw.
Looks like a lot of work has been done. Clutch, Turbos, PS, Plugs etc. But some of the earlier records noted, "Car brought in inop, tries gouged and rims bent" So it may have had a rough EARLY life.
Dan down there has been helpful. If it were closer to 50k and it passed PPI it would be nice.
I would question one thing. The Dr. that owned it put a lot of $$ into it not to long ago then he dumped it. I wonder if he found yet another large $$ repair in its future. Just speculation.

Yes, that one is really, really rough. Multiple accident car with paint runs in the repairs and front trim pieces around the turn signals are held in with caulk! The front grill is a billet piece from some kind of import truck, the car has a battery drain, non-operating horn, wrong offset wheels, narrow body rear bumper, and multiple emissions testing failures. It was used as a track car by a local guy who punished his cars. Oh, the 2nd gear synchro crunches horribly as well. It is worth low 40's maybe, essentially a salvage car with a good title.
