Default Drive time to reset the computer

I recently bought a 97 993 twin with 18K on the clock. My car failed the inspection because the after sitting and having the battery die, the computer needs to be reset. The dealer here told me to drive the car and it would reset its self. My last 993 I drove from Pa. to Boston and it did not set its self, had to reset with a lap top and a tech.

Has any one had this problem? and how did you resolve it?

there has been a lot of discussion in the 993 forum on this. The thread at https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/172914-obd-readiness-codes-once-more-with-feeling.html lists a procedure others have had work

good luck

very specific driving instructions regarding speed and time ... I had to do this for my 97 C4S which failed inspection for the same reason... I went out early one morning and followed the instructions and all was well...

Up- date,

Used ecobb993 method ( BMW routine ) to reset the clocks and it worked like a charm.

Thanks again!!!!
