I will definitely be purchasing the bigger oil cooler. Thanks for all the feedback!

Trying to start trouble again. The dyno they used is one of two also used by Porsche Motorsports to certify the 996/997 GT3 cup car motors tune ups. Andial has always been conservative with their ratings. But their ratings have always been in keeping with the factory philosophy. They were porsche's racing arm in the US for years. They have more track wins than any of the tunners on these boards combined. I've wanted more and they've told me NO!
I've seen K24's max out at 520 hp.on the dyno. So lets be honest, they will flow more than 520! As for 60-130, I will retest sooooon.

Of course I'm trying to start some trouble -one can only take so much back slapping and high fiving -the season of goodwill is over
Now there are some more Andial 3.8 owners we should be able to get some more data and get an answer for how much hp the K16 based units can be made to flow - remember my tuner reckoned the massive K16 stage 3s from Kevin would give 510hp max on my engine - I want to feel the Andial magic
Last time round we got an actual dyno sheet from an Andial 3.8 - it has disappeared from the link below but I have it on my other computer - if the numbers are real then that 100-200kph in 4th should be very telling :

Thoughts on your oil cooler. I installed the Cargraphic one on mine. It works great. In middle of North Carolina summer, car runs very cool and no compromise with air conditioning. I highly recommend the larger cooler. Helps protect the ponies!!

I think I might have a dyno sheet from the Andial car that was for sale in Colorado a while back that I was considering. Let me root around when I get home and see. I also should have the complete invoice/parts list for the conversion.

Are all Andial 3.8 motors built to the exact same specs?

C.J.

I can definitely find you a rural road out here if not I'll consult some of the other guys here. BTW, where do you find 100 octage gas out here?

Also next run with the 997 guys on 1/13.... send me your email so I can add you to the list.

TB,
You have RS k24/26 turbos right? Do you notice a broader power band and and similar lag compared to the hybrid stage 3's that you tried? I am curious to know how the k16's build so much power in the Andial cars as well.

Thanks

Jay, my experience unfortunately (unfortunate for me because it makes me an old c**t) tells me that K16 based turbos whilst giving a nicer response to the throttle, cannot provide enough airflow at the top end to give more than ~500 real Porsche style hp.
Below 120mph they feel fantastic and are much more than adequate for a very fast tt .
Bottom line - my experience is that K16s cannot build over 510hp in a 993tt engine whatever else the spec, I don't believe they have more than 510hp , similar to the Ruf "Turbo Rs" (also K16 based) 60-130 in ~9s

The Ax22/Driftbox could prove me wrong, and I WANT to see that...

Short answer is no. There was an option to use the Mahle motorsport barrels and pistons which had more cooling fins and required the block be machined to accept the spigots. Also, one could opt for reinforced heads for heavy duty (racing) use. You had the option of three oil pumps, stock, 962, or 996 RSR which also required clearancing the block. They discouraged the use of the mechanical cam as it was a maintenance item AND wouldn't meet smog.

The objective was to build a motor that could be serviced by any competent porsche service facility, meet smog, and have world wide parts availability.
Many clients also had body and brake upgrades with the increase in power, which was highly adviseable.

You mean brakes like Stoptechs?
What's that front spoiler you're running Jimmy? Hopefully it'll be ok when I run PCR GT1S this year, whoop whoop!
