Curb weight of '97 993tt vs. '96 993tt?

Curb weight of '97 993tt vs. '96 993tt?
The sources I checked showed the '97 to be around 300lbs less than the '96, and a 0-60 in 4.1 vs 4.4, respectively.......can anyone confirm this? If so, why the weight differential?

Different sources is my guess. In fact I have rarely seen two sources (magazine type) publish the same timing for the same model year either. There are a few minor changes but none that would suggest a change of that magnitude though I could be wrong.
