Improvements while not changing the ECU
what improvements can be done without modding the ECU. I must keep my OEM ECU to run in PCA C stock Club Racing. I have muffler bypasses and that's it so far. My turbos are going to need rebuilding and I was thinking of sport cats or no cats. I already have a BMC air filter too. Can I improve power without chaning the programming ? Headers, cats, ignition wires...anything ?

Andy:
If you cannot touch the ECU, then all you can do is concentrate on the exhaust system and the reduction of back pressure.
Special wires, headers and all that stuff is a waste of time: stock is fine.
Make sure the turbo's are in perfect condition and the wastegate actuators are adjusted correctly.
The rest of your success in that venue lies with the suspension configuration/preparation and the driver,.....

How about suspension??
that is where Mr. Weiner can REALLY help you!!
Other than that, I believe my local buddy that ran his 993TT had those horrible sounding
muffler bypasses. (funny thing is some people think this is the greatest exhuast system ever)

i think my turbos are toast at this point. 57k on them and 20k of that track I'd say. I'm going to send them out for a rebuild. Upgrade to the orange ended intercooler hoses. Maybe some diverter valves and run an open exhaust. Just dump pipes. All this to be done after a leakdown by the advise of some wise Porsche gurus : )

Folks,
Excuse my ignorance but what is the impact of the upgrade to the orange ended intercooler hoses? I tought they were just more solid/reliable and I would like to understand why it is an interesting upgrade performance wise??
Thanks!

What about weight reduction? What have you done so far besides dropping the mufflers?
Some things to do and consider even before you mod the engine:
-race seats
-RS door liners; the stock door trim is pretty darn heavy with the large speaker magnets and all
-remove rear wiper assembly
-remove rear seats
-remove seat belt retractors
-lighter drycell battery
-lightweight flywheel
-remove front differential for two wheel drive(not sure if that will violate the C stock rules.
-light wheels
-suspension(as Woodster added)
-add aux cooler, billet diverter valves
