Post Winter Wheels/Tired for 993TT

Being an new owner of a 1996 993TT I would like to drive it in the winter. I was looking in the the manual and it has 17" wheels for winter for the TURBO.. the thing is, it states 40mm offset for the rear.

IT THIS correct? 17" will fit and what size for the rears. Is tha 40mm on the 17" correct?

I have a set of 996 C4 17" wheels I would like to use... but they are 1 70" offset, the size and offset stated for the standard 993 (narrow body).. Also the offset fo the rear 18" is 40mm.

How can I use the 996C4 17" wheels on the 993TT? Spacers?

Yes, your manual is correct. You can use 17" wheels with winter tires. Also, the 996 17" wheels are the same size as the 993's and will work equally as good. You have to use a 31 mm spacer (993.361.631.00) at the rear with the 9" wheel. Snow chains cannot be used with this combination.
