Question 993tt short shift kit

I would like to know if anybody has installed a short shift kit on their 993tt. How is it, and how difficult was it to install??

Thanks,
Konrad

Check the archives on this one. From what I remember, the part is about $100 and you need to dimple/torch something that blocks where it travels.

Sounds a bit intimidating for a DIY, imho.

My shop installed a short shift kit for me about two months ago. I'll check with them and get back to you with the exact name of the maker of the unit, but I believe it's designed only for the 993 TT or C4. The improvement is noticeable, and I'm much happier with the shorter throws (I did find the throws with the stock 993TT set-up somewhat slushy and long), but it was not as much of an improvement as, say, the short shifter I installed in my former 944 Turbo, in that case the transformation was dramatic and the throws were very short, crisp, and had a slot-like feel when selecting gears.
