96 or 97 TT
I'm beginning to learn about TT's in preparation for buying one. Are there any significant differences between the model years of 96 and 97, other than the usual considerations?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

97s had a few updates:
1. a slightly stronger 1st gear... but still not up to drag launches
2. a single chip ECU... easier to reprogram, although the 96s are not impossible
3. better turbo hoses (orange ends... although by now most 96s have this update)
4. a quieter brake booster pump
5. a light over the ign key switch.
Others may post a few other changes.
Here's my advice... buy the one in better condition that will give you a woody every time you see it. Don't stress about the year.
