Default CanCan Red

OK... so I'm going next week to take a look at a '97 993 Turbo (yes, yes, I hve the bug). Outside is Silver, inside is CanCan Red.

Don't get me wrong, I like red (my M3 had Imola Red seats), but I know that the seats, the doors, the dash, the steering-wheel, the carpets - EVERYTHING except the headliner is red. Getting worried its TOO red.

I know that the combination (special order) is the same as Prince Reinier's 959, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing! Anyone have any pics of the colour...

Also, as far as residuals are concerned, what would a Turbo 4 with the factory 430bhp upgrade, but full (interior and exterior) Turbo S body be worth relative to an equivalent Turbo or 'kosher' S (the only difference, apart from output are: twin tailpipes, red callipers, 'Turbo' script and normal Turbo wheels).

You can always break it up with Black accents. Like floor mats, steering wheel etc. to "tone it down" a bit.

The saving grace is the fact that it has the full S carbon package. The control-strip, door inserts, half the steering wheel etc. are all carbon. I think I'll just have to see the car and see what I think.

If it comes with 20K miles, FPSH, no dings, dents, or repaints, and a unique spec, maybe it's an idea to just 'learn to live' with the color.

Jim don't you have can can red in your 996TT?

Can you take a picture of that?

That's not actually that bad... the photos I got were 'ultra-red' - think of Tarantino-esque bloodbath...

Might have been the glare from using a flash though... and it's amazing how much of a difference the carbon makes...

Now add some black mats...

Thanks for that Jim.

Again, it does look VERY red. Is that a true representation of the color?

Apart from the black carpets and the more 'architectural' look of the carbon on the 993, that's pretty much it...

Any regrets, or are my friends' comments that silver/cancan is a 'classic combo' true? (Bear in mind they REALLY want me to get the car)...

My pictures, of the 996tt, were taken with a flash. That made the difference. I need to retake my pictures.

Thanks for the answer, cos I have to say, the first photo (of the 993) is gorgeous...

Guess it's a 600-mile round-trip to see the car in the flesh then.

Any guesses on the relative value/residuals considering its rather unusual specs and condition?

UK - just over 20K miles.

One thing I have to say about red leather (after my four years with my M3) - it appears to be the only colour leather that seems to get better with age.

the interior in the 993tt posted above is boxster red and not can-can red. boxster red is more tarracatta with some orange in it.
The interior in the 996 posted is a different red and is probably can-can red.
