Wow! Jean- thanks for sharing. One fellow with the denim jacket did not look like he was having much fun (he looked like he was about to loose his lunch in the passenger seat of the RUF). I wish I remembered more of my German lessons from school. What fun..

I have ridden with Stefan on a track in a 2WD RUF and it was glorious to say the least!!!
He is the master of the "drift" and did it a couple decades before it was "in vogue" to do so.

Oh yeah and the tires were gone after a couple hours...

When I think about the (non)speed at which I was taking those same turns and I look at this video, I feel very very...(how can I say it and be nice to myself)... down

I do not speak German. Being a native Texan, the first time I saw it I thought they were just new RT12 owners who had no idea what 600 hp with the AC and radio going really means.
I do know for a fact the 650+ hp and 750+ ft. lb.tq. RT we assembled yesterday will generate exactly the same antics from anyone in the right seat on the funtional test drives. Aside from the stearing wheel, there are no right seat 'hand hold' devices. I guess it is possible to reach back and grab the rollbar, but at the expense of dislocating both shoulders. In short, passengers are in for the ride of their life. No whether or not stuff here. Pure 'ride of your life'.
Back to the video... Actually, it is my understanding they were not screaming in fear. The video records expressions of glee, in a form rarely seen in the West. It's like burping for your host after meal at Bahariyya. To lose conciousness during this ancient Germanic ritual is a compliment of the highest order.

A track driver will tell you that you loose time, a Rallye driver will tell you that you will be faster when you drift smartly.. On slippery surfaces , I would say almost always you will be faster drifting controllably (anticipation and positioning of the car for the exit), on fast dry surfaces I would say most often than not you will be slower.
Few rallye drivers here I think, so most people would say no drifting obviously. I am in between since I have done both.
