Seriously thinking about new wheels...should I go 19's???
I definatly want to do something and I'm leaning towards the Kenisis K18R or K19R.
What do you guys with the 19's think? Does the wheel size look right on our car or do you think they look cartooney. Is the performance really that affected or can you not tell by the butt meter?
Should I go reverse lip (rain issues aside) or standard stepped lip?
Should I wait and see what the new Kinesis Supercup will look like on the Turbo (I assume they will be made to fit our car)?
Should mention that I'm at Euro ride height on a Black on Black car.
Curious to hear some thoughts.

I think 19" wheels look too big on our cars. But that's just my opinion, and many others feel differently.
Aesthetically, another consideration is that with 19" reverse drop wheels, your brakes will look tiny.
Performance-wise, I have been told by several in the know that reverse drop rims are less strong than their traditional counterpart. In many cases they'll also be heavier, due to the larger center section.
I have Kinesis K28s (not K28R; mine are 18x8.5, 18x11) and love them. I think the look is perfect for the car. There are some more pictures of my wheels on my Flickr page:

I think the 19s look to big on the 993TT, too (or any other 993).... kinda looks like the car is on stilts! Along with the state of the roads in NJ, I would go with 18s. I like the look of the wheels Jeff posted, but I LOVE the RUF 5 spoke wheels on the TT.

im going for 19s! i have 18s now, so im not going to spend $$ and stay at 18s.
some feel they "look" too big, but IMO they look great! 18s vs 19s isnt the issue for me, its more no lip Ruf 19s vs deep dish 19 HRE/Iforged/Kinesis. im looking at this from a purely aesthetic point of view, so your priorities (cost, perf, ride, etc) may lie elsewhere. lowered with a nice set of 18s OR 19s make the 993tt look even better! u cant lose
btw, anyone have exp with Iforged? im partial to HREs, but hear mixed reviews on Iforged quality and svc.

No direct experience, but I've heard nothing but horror stories about iForged...maybe they've gotten better recently, but if you search around, I think you'll find plenty of interesting feedback.

Gooney? I think 19" wheels look OK on a 993... its just that it doesn't look the "same" as what we are used to. I also have a set of 18" wheels (Turbo 2 hollow-spokes) on which I'll mount R compounds... someday for track use. Meanwhile... I love the look of the 19" wheels, and now, to my eye, the 18" look kinda small.

Marty,
Yes, I have the Ruf 19" on my car. At our recent "Eurocar Sunday" car gathering, there were about 5 or 6 993s wearing Ruf 19" wheels (and one wearing HRE 19"). Yes, they are heavy (unless you get the magne$ium), but the car feels fine, and I like the look. It does take a bit of getting used to... at one time I shared your opinion that 19" looked a bit out of place on the 993.

Sadly, due to a disk crash, I've lost all my photos. The backup won't be available for a few days. I'll try to remember to post some then. You may be able to find some old Rennlist threads with pictures in the meantime.

what do you guys think of these Rinspeed wheels? I don't know that they're available in 19" (I think only 20") but I like the look better then the Ruf wheels and they could possibly be lighter.
This is off their Zazen show car.
