Default Electric heater thoughts?

What options exist for electric heat? Any thoughts on wattage/amperge draw that would be safe through the ciggy lighter? I have seen many 300 watt units but wonder if they do anything.... and also what draw would be safe on that circuit ..

and... at what wattage level would I start to push the charging system.. I think the alternator is 90ish amp output... but thats a heck of a lot of watts...

It really doesn't take much to make a heat exchanger for your heat. You can basically fab a stainless pipe that runs next to your headers and you will get heat for the cabin. Even boxing one primary tube would give you some heat in moderate climates. On the 993TT we have a pre-heater on the Cats..

true but that still requires a blower assembly. i was thinking along the lines of something ultimatly simple - on/off pulling air from the cabin and totaly elimination of the CCU, Cowl blower assembely, all other ducting, mixing valves, using equal length headers, etc.

Kevin,

Thanks, I had a neat stainless box on my 930 tt that worked very well.. was trying to keep it simple... may have to resort to that...
