Blew Transmission
I posted this under https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turbo-forum/231332-clutch-5k-sound-right.html but still wanted to find out if anyone else has blown their tranny.. I have 81k miles. ??

Blown transmission is a bit vague. Input shaft, synchros, or a huge hole in the case would be more diffinitive. Was this done in launch mode with a 5k rpm launch with sidesteping the clutch. Yes, I've bent the imput shaft, as a lot of 96 model owners have. Need more info.

It has been common, alot of bent '96 mainshafts.
Funny thing, back in 1983, I broke my mainshaft in my first Porsche, had it less than a week.. I said to myself, this is going to be expensive.. So, off I went, got a job in a VW Porsche shop...

Vince you can get a used TT tranny for around 3.5-4k USD. Opening the tranny and replacing parts/fixing them will cost you as much, it is stupid but true unfortunately. BTW I also have had two bent shafts already, in my gearbox...
