Viper Bob's exhaust installed...(updated with dyno sheet)
After installing Viper Bob's former exhaust I was amazed at the power increase in the midrange. Turbo response was also drasticly improved. I went to the dyno (mustang AWD, correction factor 1.004, 75+ degrees) on friday to test 3 different ECU's and to check the air filter housing.
I had no baseline on this particular dyno so I can't give exact improvements. What I can say for sure is that my torque# was higher than my HP# by 20+ foot pounds. On the other dyno (2wd dynojet)the torque was much less than HP. Only change at this point was the exhaust. After stabilizing I decieded to remove air filter cover to see if it was a point of restriction. I was shocked to see WHP jump by 25-30 (with lid closed). After 3 runs it was consistant. (thanks TB993)
I then checked a couple of different ECU's. The GIAC race gas program beat out the protomotive pump gas program by only a few HP. They were closer than I expected. The GIAC program did have a much better midrange. I am sure Todd could tune it the same for race gas if I asked.
Final output on mustang awd dyno was 502WHP and 504WTQ.
Before on the 2wd dynojet 533whp and 461 wtq.
Assuming WHP did not change between the two dynos then I gained a crapload of torque!

I was not thinking about it either. I was there looking at other things till the light bulb came on. Once he started the car I was sold. It was unbolted minutes later.

Good news on the airbox. What is interesting is that taking off the Gruppe M cone style and putting back on the holey stock gave an increase 10hp (at the >500hp level). You got 20hp+ from stock to holey (at this level), so for a certain (lower) power level does that mean that the cone may be less restrictive than a stock unholey box ?
Anyone who thinks they have around 450-470hp fancy doing a cone v stock dyno test
