Hey Kevin... I was waiting for you to chime in. BTW, I'll send you more pics of my turbo this week.

Why go with a K24 compressor when there are sooo much better choices? Try a K16 hot side with a super60t3 compressor wheel. Kevin should be able to do it for you.

Why is that better than a 16/24? Car will be driven on the street w/occasional track use.

thanks,

I have said this countless times, the GT1 turbochargers or K16/24 hybrids are the best overall street turbocharger made. Very flexible, with numerous ECU tuning options available. When one addresses mods to the turbine housing, a zero lag condition is obtainable. Making large turbochargers are/is easy for me, it is the programming and other engine components that eats up the cash and is more involved.

On my recent tuning adventure. My Stage 2 were cranking out 1.65 bars. The engine did not utilize that much boost. Timing was being pulled, knock counts were high and in the end when optimized for stock components, the car made more torque and more HP with less boost..

For the stock engine, that has never been opened up, Stage 2 turbochargers are the maximum, anything larger and the engine does not utilize the added airflow. Now there are exception to this, if one wants to play with the intake, and exhaust and have custom programming, some gain are realized. However, in the long run it is far easier to twin plug the engine, install rods, and basically create a more efficient flowing engine.

of course that gets into ECU's, fuel pressure regulations, etc. etc. Natural progression...so K24...I want to do 500ish HP with decent low end torque...any suggestions?

Tony, I just got straight k16/k24 hybrids, no ZC. With ZC you definitely need a chip, and I did not want to spend for both at the same time. Besides, it's plenty of power at the track
