First of all, I'd like to thank Swampthing.
He's the reason that I have this car...
I'd like to tell the story about getting this car, since it almost drove me insane.
Background
I always wanted a TT. Ever since Tiff from, I think it was, Top Gear went completly insane when he testdrove it on TV. However, my Porsche experience was very limited at that time, so I wasn't really sure if I'd afford and could handle such a car. So I purchased a 993C4, which was a BIG step for me anyway. That car has given me so much pleasure and joy, that I still miss it. After loosing my drivers licence to two very pleased police officers (Berndt & Benny), I decided to sell the C4 and start looking for a TT. Three months later, I stod there with no car and a new licence
The Search
Previously as some of you know, I posted a poll to see what people liked about three different 993's that I've found. It ended up in a disaster. The poll went great, but the cars didn't.
Car nr.1 Sold the same day I was supposed to test it.
Car nr.2 FAKE - The seller had some funky business, and I walked away. Even after a PPI that was supposed to be good.
Car nr.3 This car was great, except the price that was a joke,
I've looked at every TT ad. there is in Sweden, and in Germany. So many cars, so much crap. Couldn't belive it.. My hope was fading
Going Nuts
I almost went nuts, and thought. "I'll never find my TT". On top of all things, the new owner of my old 993 called me. When he introduced himself to me over the phone my first thought was "Sh*t, he must have broken the car and wants to blame me". Nope, not at all! He just came back from a long roadtrip through Germany and eastern europe. He was so pleased with the car and the condition, that he wanted to thank me again... I felt like an idiot, and my thoughts where going "what have I done?" over and over again.
Finally
Anyway, last weekend I spent at my country house, came back monday. Once back, I noticed a pm from Swampthing. "I went to the Porsche Dealer, the just got in a 993TT black/black. It's not even up for sale yet. I think you should take a look at it."
BINGO! I went there and looked at the car. The car looked back at me and said "Daddy, please take me home". My reaction was something like
Looking at the specs I saw that this was a -98TT with the powerupgrade, and sunroof. Just what I wanted. I went into the mechanic (very nice fella), and told him that he could take that Carrera GT, and all other stuff that they had in the garage and tell their owners that they have to wait another day. 24h later the PPI, some small fixes, where done. 2s later a huge amount of cash that changed owner, and I left with a grin.
My thoughts
GAH! The car is insane! Even though I've driven them before, I've never really tried them 100% since it wasn't my car. These are my thoughts in order:
1.) Where is the Turbo? Isn't workin' ?
2.) Guh... can't breath... air, someone give me air...
3.) Ok, I've found the Turbos
4.) Uh, Oh... that crossing is closing, pretty fast.
5.) Guuh again (lunch is on it's way up),...
6.) So that's how the big reds works.. nice breaks!
I've driven the car all day today, and I'm so pleased with it. It's mint! Like new, Looking at the VIN I see that the car is one of the last 993TT produced and was taken out in october -98.
My wishes
This feels a bit stupid, but I've already done the wishlist since a long time:
It looks like this, in no special order.
1.) 450 hp-kit
2.) Red seatbelts (if the car is black/black)
3.) New wheels (BBS LeMans or something like that)
4.) Aluminum Dials
5.) Metal pedals
6.) Better suspension
7.) Racing Cats.
8.) Better Stereo
9.) Phonekit for my SonyEricsson phone
Anyway, I'd like to tell all of you that post in this forum. I've been following it since start, with the thought that one day I'll join you guys. I've read so many posts and suggestions, and looked at all those small things you've mentioned. And finally I'm here. Thank you all for the help, suggestions, input and feedback. This is a start, not an ending, and I'll be back quicker than you can imagine with new questions. But for now.... I got a summer to enjoy, and the less I post, the more fun I'll have. I'll be soon heading to Gotland Ring (a nice racetrack) to see what this baby can do, and I'll post as soon as I can with more pictures.
For now,
Cheers all!

Nice car you won't regret it. I used to have one just like that but the GT2 bug bit me. I still miss the 993TT though, better than a 996 turbo for the true enthusiat. Good luck with tickets you'll need it!
