Unhappy lowest sale price i've seen

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=165095784

$34k, claimed excellent cond., 28k miles

Typo? or does the horrendous color take that much away? At that price, I'm tempted to grab it as a spare. :-)

That's gotta be a typo on the price. Grab that baby if its real. There's a few folks that like that color. Personally, I've never seen a 993 that I didn't like. If you decide not to grab it, post here, and let folks know. It sounds "too good to be true", which usually means it isn't.

has to be a mistake .. i believe ive seen that car listed for $80 + recently. Im sure anyone here would buy it at 34k. Afterall, you can have the entire thing painted for 10-12k and then it would be any color you want.

That car was for sale for a long time by its legitimate owner on ebay quite some time ago. I have seen it put up for auction on ebay a couple of times lately by a fraudulent seller. The pictures and the text pulled directly from the LA area owner's old auction. The auctions were usually pulled by ebay after a few days.

As for the Autotrader ad, it didn't take much detective work to show that this is another scam. (as if the selling price didn't raise enough flags)!!
click on "get phone number" under the guy's name. ...area code 876...a quick internet search says that area code is for ...Jamaica....
Now, do you think the owner accidentally listed his car for sale the same week he was scheduled for vacation in Jamaica?? ..or somebody in Jamaica wants you to wire them a sizeable deposit??

how do you spell 'caveat emptor' ??

Notwithstanding the apparent scam, this car is quite stunning in person. Last month as the wife and I were on our way to Palm Springs, this TT pulled onto the freeway right as we were driving past. I never thought I could like Riviera Blue on a 993TT but that day changed my mind.

Or, maybe its just my Arena Red TT talking...

It is the same car that is on Cardomain that the vendor (in LA) says he sold to Jerry Seinfeld. Maybe Jerry couldn't fit it in his new, multi-million dollar garage and decided to sell it while he is on vacation in Jamaica. The price on the cardomain web page was $80K.

Here is the reply from the seller. I figured a backup 993TT for $34K would be a good thing. No such luck.

Hello,
First you have to know that the car is available and you just need is to be agree with my condition stated below and the car
will be yours.
The price includes shipping and insurance fees.
1.SHIPMENT:I am currently located in Italy and the car will be shipped from here by sea with the cargo ship in a container to
your nearest port so for that I ask you to locate your nearest port with sea access and let me know which one is it, the
usualy transit time for such a transportation is 7-8 days, a deposit of 3000$ must be sent prior to shipping.
2. PAYMENT:
You will arrange payment through wired transfer (www.westernunion.com).
All you have to do is go to www.westernunion.com and find an local agent near you were you have to go and send the funds or
you can send the deposit online with your credit card at www.westernunion.com, also if you don't have the full purchase
amount available right now I can work out a payment plan with $300/month after the initial $3000 down payment.
3.INSURANCE
The car will be insured at the delivery service and insured for the transport.
4.RETURN POLICY
As soon as the car arrives, you will test the car and if it does not matches 100% to your expectations, you will return it in
max. 7 days since the arrival date. In this case I will send you the full amount back and you will send me the car in the
original container and you don't have to pay the return shipping and insurance.
5.In the 7 days inspection perioud you decide to buy the car send the remainig balance and our deal will be completed.
If this will be ok with you just email back with your info and tell me what info you need more about the car and the
transaction and you will have it.
There will be some paperwork to take care of prior to shipping and that is the bill of sale and the odometer discosure
statement and for that I will need your name and address.
Sincerely hope to do the transaction.

Now I'm getting really confused. Is Jerry Seinfeld in Jamaica or Italy?

It is nice that he is offering a payment plan, at $300 per month, it will only take 10 or 15 years to pay it off.

I always figured that Jerry was a generous guy.

However, I'm a little surprised that he doesn't take American Express!

obviously a scam, that is a beautiful colour and

even if someone didn't like it, it would not force the value of the car to plumet to 50k below market value.

another send money/deposit first, then you see the car/etc

I saw this same type of scam on eBay when I was looking at M5s - basically they scam you for the down payment and then you never hear from them again.
