Default Need help with tire sizes

Hey guys, I piked up a set of 19" RUF replica wheels. 19"x8.5 and 19"x11. I have been trying to find a size that will work, the fronts are easy. Can use 225 or 235/35/19. The rears are being a PITA however, the ideal sizes would be either 295/25/19 or 305/25/19 which are not available in NA. The seller seems to know about wheels and he suggested that instead of going off of the factory rear size (285/40/18) i use the winter rear size of 265/35/18. When I use the 1010Tire calculator it says I can use a 295/30/19 with a variance of 2.65% which is within the 3% spec. Anyone have any experience with this? I think the viscous couple is more forgiving than the PTM but I want to make sure I don't fry something. Thank yo in advance!

I’m running 245/35ZR-19 and 305/30ZR-19 with no rubbing on RUF replicas aka CRUFs

I don’t think I can get 305’s here and I think they go over the 3% allowable variance if I recall correctly. You have 11” rear as well?

Yup 11’s in rear. Where are you? Both those sizes in stock at Tire Rack. Less than 2% difference

That's odd, when I put that size into the 1010 Calculator compared to the stock 285/30/18 it says it is 5.95% out. This is so frustrating

Are you saying 2% difference from front to rear or from stock size to the 305? I was told by my techs and parts dept that we can only go 3% difference from stock size to the new size. I have been having a heel of a time finding something that fits that profile. a 315/25/19 works perfectly but they don't make them in NA, only Europe which would be a pain to get. You have been running this combo with no issues it seems? I wonder if it will cause the speedo to be out or any issues with the viscous coupler?

Issue w the 3% difference is front to rear of whatever is on the car not difference from stock. With those sizes the speedo reads a little slow. The 3% is to protect the viscous coupler

if they are telling you that I’d find new techs

As long as you keep the F/R difference under 3% only issues are speedo and potential rubbing. My speedo is less than 5 mph low 3-4 iirc

Thanks Doug, if you are having no issues then I should be good to go. Just need to order my tires now!

I had 235/295 combo for years on Hankook V12, no issues.
