What to look for when buying a 993 Turbo?
My '95 C2 has taught me a lot about 993's. Headlights, fog lights(literally foggy lights), door pockets, speedos, windshield creaking, motor mounts, door straps, need I go on, lol.
My question is, aside from the 993 stuff, that I know I'll have to "sort" regardless, what specifically should I look out for, when buying a 993 Turbo. Thanks in advance!
Also, if you know of one for sale :-) ....

if you search 'buy' or 'buying' in this forum, you'll find a bunch of threads.
Not much difference over a 993 I think, other than the turbos/leaking/smoking etc - check the sticky above. Maybe the clutch slave/accumulator, first gear shaft problems from hard launches, intercooler hoses, power steering high pressure bango line, electric brake booster pump/accumulator, viscous coupling for 4wd gone bad, ... can't think of much else right now off the top of my head.

A couple more things to look out for are sticking wastegate actuators (can be corroded) giving rise to erratic boost (or boost that won't rise above 0.5 bar) and perished intercooler pipes - if they're old or the older style, they may have lost their clamping lip at the end attached to the intercooler - if one of those pops off when pressing on it feels like an anchor has been thrown out.

In addition to the advice above, a couple of sorta pricey mods are a Turbo S aux oil cooler and a TT oil line update kit. If already on the car, would save some $$$. Though not critical, a good idea for a keeper.
