Default Considering a modded 993TT purchase

Hi folks,

Seeking some advice on a TT I am looking at purchasing. It s 1996 with larger turbos, intercoolers and a Zytech Engine Management System. The exhaust is also decatted. A search for Zytech says that the manufacturer no longer has support and upgrading to Motec the best pathway. I would be registering the car in NJ. Question: even if the emissions codes are clear, no CEL, would it pass NJ emissions Cat? With the Zytech EMS, can I just replace a stock cat? Or is retuning the ems required? If a future replacement of Zytech is needed, could I revert back to a factory ECU vs going to motec? Anything else needed to convert the ems but keep the upgraded turbo systems and fuel system? what would an current upgrade to motec cost?

best regards.
