993TT Curb weight "aka- these things are heavy!"
Finally fitted new tires to the old turbo today. Had some spare time so I started corner balancing it at home after work. Car is a street car with some minor mods. Was hoping for below 3000lbs. Just squeaked in under this. Anyone else have weights on theirs? On another note, corner balancing is a royal PITA. Just repetitive manual labor...

Well you haven't told us what you've done to your car but you're already at about the limit of what you can reasonably attain. If that weight is with 1/2 tank of gas and driver (should be if you're corner balancing - how heavy are you?), To be at 2999, you are already 2wd, gutted the interior, removed windshield washer/tank, removed rear wipers, race seats + roll bar (or stock seats without roll bar), your hood and tail are already not stock. Can't get much lighter unless you're replacing windows with plastic. If you don't have a sunroof, you might still have your interior.

Basal Skull knows his 993tt's. Car is 2wd, Recaro pole positions, rear seat delete with rs style carpet, no cat or mufflers. All stock panels and glass in place. 1/2 tank of gas but no driver. Bolt in roll bar adds a few pounds. Wonder how many other folk have weighed their tt's.

I'll put mine on my scales to check, but from memory, I'm at 3100 or so with me in it, I weigh 165lbs. I've also got cf front bumper cover, tail, tunnel and trans cover. Hydraulic delete - including pump, most of the lines and reservoir (na clutch slave/manual 964RS steering rack). My engine might weigh a little more than stock and probably takes more oil with the dual oil coolers, but my exhaust is home made and quite a bit lighter than stock. Don't think i've weighed the car since I put on ceramic composite material rotors/brakes (but heavier 19" wheels/tires to clear the brakes). I still have AC, have my cd changer/stereo but have taken out the stock speakers (and most of the interior) and replaced with smaller speakers.

It's interesting that your weights are so similar to mine. Both cars are probably quite similar in driving experience as both are 3.8's.

My exhaust must be where there’s some difference if you still have your interior. I also have a lithium battery, and a bunch of cf pieces I made - floor boards, trans/fuel pump/tunnel cover. If you haven’t looked at different material for the tunnel cover, you can loose a fit bit there, I initially made aluminum cover then cf. the cf weighs nothing. Only other things I could loose would be the AC, sunroof, stereo, and power windows. - which I don’t want to take out. I suppose I could work on a different design for the exhaust or learn to weld titanium.. hmm
