Battery Advice
Guys,
Two questions, my car has been parked for two weeks...Valentine 1 switched off, alarm off and the car left unlocked (in my garage)
Should the battery go flat in two weeks, does the TT draw power even under the conditions mentioned above or does it sound like my battery is history.
Anyway, with that in mind...what is a good battery option.
I did a search, which although generated a ton of hits...I haven't seen any conclusive answers.
So, which dry cell/gel cell battery do you guys recommend and are any additional bits required i.e. Battery clamps etc...
Thank you in advance.

So you did a search, eh?

Your battery shouldn't go flat after just 2 weeks. I've left my car sitting for 5 weeks before and it started right up.

OK, keep in mind that I am crazier than most. I went with a dry cell setup. Odyssey PC925 with a nice billet aluminum holder. Save approx. 20 lbs over my previous setup
Total install time was 15 minutes start to finish. I Had to drill 4 holes for the billet mount. Here is where I ordered it:

Others seem to go with the Optima (I use this for my tow vehicle so I needed something different for my Porsche).

Bob,
Thank you for the info, I will look into the Odyssey battery option...
and as Jeff caught me out again (forgot to look in the faq) I should look at the options mentioned in the faq.
Jeff, it is really weird that the battery went flat so quickly, I suspect the cold weather had something to do with it, but this also might indicate a new battery is required.
I will let you know.

I have a 1 year old Interstate battery which dies in 3 weeks if the doors are locked and the immobilizer armed. Best solution is to get a battery tender and keep the battery charged during long periods of inactivity.

James,
Go to their website, batterytender.com, for complete information on this product. You can order it from there or sometimes motorcycle shops have it on sale for less than $50.

I have a battery tender for my Ducati and payed $26 at a local motorcycle parts shop. Its very handy. You can wire a plug to your terminals so all you have to do is plug the battery tender in rather than attaching it to each terminal each time you want to charge it.

Get the one Bob has and not the one I have (the 680). The one I have is so small and light but it's always draining etc... whilst Bob's seems to work just fine.
Thanks
