I don't have a turbo just an ordinary (spectacular) C4S locked when garaged, and on a CTEK. No issues.
My BMW 335i had battery failures. It was not on a tender. I didn't often lock and arm it when garaged. A very reputable, known independent German car repair facility in Portland, which services both Porsche and BMW, told me they have seen such before in unlocked cars being stored. Their take is that there's constant current drain when unlocked, even in older cars, and some seem more vulnerable when not locked and armed, as myriads of computer chips facilitate small but real drain.

For the first 10 or 15 years I owned my car, the car would sit over the winter months locked, no tender.

Almost every year I had to buy a new battery.

Then I bought a ctek. Always keep it plugged in when car is parked. Even short term. Haven't had a problem since.

Car is locked when parked.
