Default lowering cars, bumper heights, accident damage?

Question as to whether there is any issue lowering cars to ROW height and damage created by getting bumped by others, including in parallel parking?

I was just rear ended in my E55 on the highway in stop and start traffic when the guy behind in his massive new pickup didn't do the stop part (fortunatley just a few mph impact, but enough to cause an $1,800 scratch in the paint as he somehow came over my bumper given his mass).

What would that do to a lowered 993tt?

Thanks,

I'm not sure about the midwest, but here in So. California, 4 out of 5 cars aren't cars at all. They're pickups, SUVs, or mini-vans. Most actual cars, even at stock heights, don't stand a chance anyway. Lower/don't lower your car to please yourself, not as a defensive manuever.

Agreed. So no difference in lowering? The stock is already too low?
